BoonARKM is a family owned business in the central Fluerieu Peninsula, and was established in 2007, purchasing our property at Mt Magnificent.
A lot of people ask us how our stud name came about Boon is the families last name and ARKM is each of the family members names A is Annie our eldest daughter , R is Robert, K is Kerry and M is Matilda our youngest daughter.
Our first field day was held on farm in 2012 and was very successfull with all Bulls on offer all sold at the end of the day. We continue each year in February to host our Angus on property beef field day for marketing our Bulls. Our Bulls provide some of the most sought after genetics in the world.
We have a range of Bulls to suit all requirements representing good quliaty and elite genetics.
All Bulls are fed a balanced ration throughout the year to help keep there best potential. All Bulls are semen tested, pesti tested, vaccinated and drenched . We have a strong emphasis on our Bulls fertility for there new herd to ensure there ability to work so we are confident that you have peace of mind.
BoonARKM continues to prove itself in the show ring at the Royal Adelaide Show having won a major award every year since we started showing in 2010. In 2015 was the first year of entering our first steer, taking home the Angus led steer championship. We continue to produce some of the best steers for the Royal Adelaide show.
Also on the show circuit Boonarkm has had a great run winning champions at numerous country shows in South Australia. We have given strong attention to our cow herd including maternal traits, udder quality and fertility over the years.
We operate over 500 acres for mostly grazing with approximately 200 Acres for growing our own hay.
Our cows graze on pasture all year and are supplement feed hay to ensure a complete balanced diet and keep them to there best potential.
We are instrumental in maintening herd health, artificial insemination, heat checking, vaccinating and all other aspects of keeping our herd moving forward.
We are continually looking to add value to our genetics.
